Am I inside a firewall?

  1. Click on Start and select Programs.
  2. Now go to Accessories and select System tools. Now click on Security Center.

  3. Click on Windows Firewall

You can now turn ON or OFF the firewall as desired.

Another Method to check for Firewall:

  • Click on Start, and then select Control Panel.
  • Now click on Network and Internet Connections, and then select Network Connections.
  • Under the Dial-Up or LAN or High Speed Internet category.
  • Select the icon of the connection you want to help protect.
  • In Network Tasks, click Change settings of this connection
  • On the Advanced tab, under Internet Connection Firewall, make sure the box is checked next to Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the Internet. If a check mark is in the box, the firewall is already enabled. If the box is clear, the firewall is off and your computer is potentially vulnerable on the Internet.
